Hardbound Books are Still Available on Amazon
On October 1, 2009, Doug Wallace’s Everything Will Be All Right was released by Greenleaf Publishing Company in Austin, Texas.
On December 1, 2009, the book won an Indie Bound Next List notable award for best non-fiction. I was thrilled to win this prestigious award as a first time author. I know how rare it is for a first-time author to get the kind of attention this book has gotten.
Such success is rare, but in today’s publishing climate, they are almost unheard of.
Another important marker of the book’s success is that it has been accepted in 3000 libraries located in all fifty states.
It is currently being used by teachers from middle schools to universities, as a teaching tool to help students use their sociological imaginations to explore the behaviors and language of the generationally poor.
The book has been sold in 12 countries:: United Kingdom, Australia; Bulgaria, Argentina, France, Germany, South Korea, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Spain, and Mexico.
By June 1, 2010 the publisher had sold out all of their inventory. My contract with the publisher allowed me to retain control of the copyrights, including all distribution rights. When the publisher asks for permission to print more copies, I declined.
I believe that when a person has achieved an important goal, then the moment has arrived to pause and reflect upon what it is that you really want to do next. Promoting a book involves extensive travel, getting up at all hours of the night to conduct interviews in different time zones, and it takes a toll on your quality of life.
Still, there are people who read my blog and want to purchase my book. As is true with all successful launches, there are many used copies of my book for sale on Amazon. They can be purchased at very low prices. Additionally, I have offered my own inventory of hardbound books for sale on Amazon at a very low price.
By offering my book at an affordable price, I have kept the new and used prices at or below $5 for a hardbound copy of my book. If I didn’t do this, then the price of my book would soar. I want this book affordable to those who can benefit the most from reading my story.
Though I have no plans for publishing a second addition, I will continue to use my best efforts to keep the price of the hardbound books on Amazon, both new and used, at $5 or less for as long as my personal inventory lasts. I do not sell directly to the consumer, nor is it availale in ebook format at this time.
If you are interested in purchasing this book, I recommend that you do so on Amazon.
